WELCOME

The Working Stiffs have not been nominated for a Grammy Award. The band is not an influential, internationally acclaimed pop phenomenon, and cannot claim that music critics have embraced its refreshing, innovative approach because, as a special group with special needs, it boasts an exclusive following. The Working Stiffs is a long-running, remodeled rock & soul band whose members have, separately or together, rocked, or wanted to rock, many of Portland's most characteristic venues.

The Working Stiffs is four guys devoted to fun and creativity in music. In the studio, any classic rock, blues, jazz, rockabilly, Latin, or country style is open for exploration (and rejection). Live, the band plays familiar covers in unfamiliar ways, as well as playing catchy originals.

Aspirations of glitzy boy band choreography missed this motley crew. Every member of the band has laid down his instrument to savor the good life or endure the blows, and each has weathered the blows to return with enhanced depth and perspective. Experience, resilience, and laughter define the Working Stiffs. Today's line-up has largely played together since 2002 and can describe one another's tattoos, birthmarks, and musical quirks in scary detail.

We hope that you enjoy listening to our music as much as we enjoy playing it. If you venture out to hear the band play live, we hope that you find the music to complement the hoppy beers and the greens and grays of the Pacific Northwest. Please let us know if you like it.
